Sorry about the two posts in quick succession, but here's my new review. [link]

"Back on Nal Hutta, Obi-Wan escapes his captors with some neat, quiet use of the Force. No sooner could you say "Obi-Wan's drinking on the job again" than Cad Bane nearly strangles him."

All right! :w00t: Another Clone Wars review! It's so funny that I don't feel like the whole experience is complete until I read your review for the episode that week. :XD:

Nicely done. I think what I like best is the attention to the details which are shown, not told. Indeed, that Twi'lek shopkeeper added quite a bit of colour to the situation. I was taken back to my limited FPS experience when Obi-Wan was getting stomped on and the camera, from his perspective, blurred. Oh, the near-death situations those single player modes put me through. XD

Thanks. ^_^ I liked how much that Twi'lek's side of the story was told without her getting any (understandable) dialogue, or indeed being part of the main plot. It was subtle, but her emotion and motive were clear. Yeah, that camera blur was cool! The action in this one was intense. Star Wars needs moar hand-to-hand comment. I probably should have mentioned the scarcity of that in the review, actually. ^^;

Well, ever since Masters of Teras Kasi (which I initially thought was cool but never played), I can't say I blame them. It's easier to write 'this awesome thing happened' in a novel. XD

But I agree! It's a lot more small scale and brutal than a few of the other hand-to-hands we've seen. When I saw the first blow Anakin landed on 'Hargin/Hardeen', I flinched. ^^;

Sorry, I'm not sure I follow. Do you mean that it's easier to write hand-to-hand combat than to show it in games or television? ^^' I've heard of that game and love Teras Kasi as a concept, but never played - I think it was dated even when I first heard of it.

Yep. It was them falling down and Obi nearly choking Anakin that really made me sit back and go "whoah".

Ah right, sorry. What I was going for is that animating it in 3D and making it look good isn't exactly a piece of cake, whereas writing it is just a matter of choreography and the reader's imagination.

But in hindsight, it's all relative. Some people might have just as much trouble making a fight seem fluid in prose. XD

Ah, I see. :)

I'd say it's easier in prose too, but I know almost nothing about animation. :P A fight choreographer for both mediums probably comes up with ideas in pretty much the same ways, but it takes more time for the animator to get them to come to fruition.
